About Louisville - Where You Would Live and Work
You could not choose a better location to work and play. Louisville plays host to one of
the country's largest celebrations: The Kentucky Derby Festival. It kicks off with Thunder
Over Louisville, North America's largest annual fireworks display, and concludes with "the
greatest two minutes in sports", The Kentucky Derby. In between are two weeks and more than
700 events that attract more than 1.5 million people to the area. Theatergoers will recognize
Kentucky Center for the Arts, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Louisville Orchestra, the
Louisville Ballet, the Kentucky Opera and children's theater producer Stage One. Louisville
is also known worldwide for the company headquarters and bat production of the Louisville
Slugger.
The Downtown area is experiencing many new developments. One of these, the Louisville Slugger
Field, plays home to the Louisville Bats, the Triple A farm team of the Cincinnati Reds. The
Great Lawn at Waterfront Park has playgrounds, fountains and established tree-lined paths
that run alongside the Ohio River. In addition, The Muhammad Ali center celebrates the life
and values of Louisville’s "Greatest" native son.
Louisville is located in the center of it all. Being only hours away from other major cities
such as Cincinnati, Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, and Indianapolis makes it easy to travel to
nearby locations on a short trip. The possibilities are endless in Louisville. The sweet tea
